After about an hour of figuring out how to load the bobbin and thread the needle, I was able to start playing with my Christmas sewing machine. I first made Tuffy a hat, which was too small and stangled him so of course I had to put it on the cat. He didn't like it very much either. Here is a picture of my first project: breastfeeding pads. Aren't they hideous?!! It was a challenge to go in a circle, and since I can't find the pins I got for Christmas, the layers didn't want to stay together. They are a cut up gerber cloth diaper. I have to say that it is much harder to sew when your Mom or Grama isn't there to set up the machine, pick the stitch, etc. Next I will make baby leg warmers out of kneehigh socks! Righteous!!

good job. not bad for circles. and they are going to go in your bra anyway.
ReplyDeleteExactly!
ReplyDeleteI love your booby pads! Great job mama! How novel to upcycle a gerber diaper too! I have gathered a gigga ton of booby pads over the years, I got these really soft pretty fleecy ones this time that looked really pretty but left little fleecey fuzzy booby berries when i used them- so believe me pretty is not what you want to go for with booby pads. :D
ReplyDeleteWhere is the picture of you dressing your cat? I have lots of pictures of you dressing Gibby up in your cabin when we were eating whoopers by the carton full and watching girly movies. Good times
Booby berries do not sound awesome! I am going to make several more since a got alot of gerbers given to me by friends who had used them as burp cloths.
ReplyDeleteI will find some pics of the new cats wearing things. They aren't as fun as Gibby was. One just flops over and the other one races around until his legs get caught.
